Job description

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
You'll be aligned to a specific Sport team or priority project, partnering directly with Footwear Product Designers to rapidly visualize concepts and bring creative visions to life in 3D. Working within Nike's Footwear Digital Design Studio, you'll collaborate with your Sport team designers, development teams, and engineering partners, reporting to your Design Studio Manager or Director.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You're a skilled 3D designer who excels at design, craft and production quality while embracing new Al-powered workflows. You have strong poly modeling, subD and nurbs fundamentals and can quickly translate design sketches into refined 3D design models. You're eager to learn generative Al tools to accelerate ideation and leverage 3D printing to rapidly prototype footwear concepts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • 0-2 years of experience in 3D design role
  • Proficient in poly modeling in industry-standard 3D tools (Maya, Blender, and Rhino etc.)
  • Experience with rendering packages (Cycles, Arnold, V-Ray, or KeyShot)
  • Understanding of footwear construction fundamentals (bite-lines, offsets, nets, proportions)
  • Willingness to learn and apply generative Al workflows for concept exploration and Ideation
  • Portfolio demonstrating ability to design, model, and execute 3D content

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
You'll bring designer visions to life by creating high-quality 3D models for inline projects. hackathons, and priority projects. You'll learn to integrate generative Al workflows to supercharge creativity and use 3D printing to rapidly output physical prototypes.
Translate design sketches into refined 3D concept models, partnering with Footwear Designers to ensure design intent is captured and potential issues are identified early
  • Apply generative Al workflows developed by the GenAl team to accelerate ideation and explore diverse design variations quickly
  • Leverage 3D printing and additive manufacturing to rapidly produce physical concept forms that bring digital ideas into designers' hands
  • Create high-quality renderings and visualizations using library materials and standard rendering setups to communicate design direction
  • Work with your manager to ensure models follow engineering best practices and are ready for handoff to development and Asia partners
  • Collaborate with teammates to share learnings, ask questions, and continuously build your skills in both traditional 3D craft and emerging Al tools. Maintain Nike's brand protection standards, ensuring all work follows KIT protocols and proper authorization processes
