Description
Responsible for teaching private music lessons for students ages 7 - adult at the Plymouth Community Center. Coordination and scheduling of lessons provided by program supervisor, with focus on piano and guitar lessons.
This is a year-round, part-time position that includes evening and weekend hours (based on instructor availability). Average weekly hours vary, approximately 4 - 10 hours per week. Music lessons are weekly, with four sessions that take place approximately 6 weeks - 12 weeks, following the school calendar.
Essential Functions
  • Instruct participants during weekly 30-minute private lessons.
  • Create lesson plans for each student to help them progress during the program.
  • Work with program supervisor to schedule music lessons.
  • Participate in program recital for the spring and fall sessions.

Qualifications
  • 21 years of age or older
  • At least 2 years' experience teaching music lessons
  • Music education or similar degree preferred
  • Good organizational skills/communication skills

Seasonal, temporary and non-regular employees are not eligible for benefits.
