Position Summary

The Event Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of events at the convention center. This role involves planning, organizing, and executing events, ensuring exceptional guest experiences. The duties will include all event coordination tasks after events are booked through their conclusion. Ensures client requirements are met and facility rules, regulations, and policies are adhered to by serving as a liaison between the facility and clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills and a passion for delivering high-quality service.

This role pays an annual salary of $58,000 - $62,000

This position will remain open until November 20, 2026.ย 

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients after events are booked through event execution and final billing.
  • Manage all aspects of event coordination, including room setups, audiovisual needs, catering, and event logistics.
  • Develop detailed event orders and communicate requirements to internal departments.
  • Prepares and distributes CAD drawings illustrating event set-up requirements.
  • Manage timelines and event schedules to ensure seamless execution.
  • Prepare and present catering proposals and event packages to clients.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create customized menus that align with client preferences and budget requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional service.
  • Conduct site visits, pre-event meetings, and tastings with clients to determine event requirements and expectations.
  • Address client inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with banquet, culinary, audio/visual, and internal operational teams to ensure event requirements are met.
  • Manage and oversee event setup, execution, and teardown, ensuring adherence to client specifications.
  • Monitor events to ensure compliance with safety, health, and company regulations.
  • Prepare event cost estimates and final invoices
  • Prepares event reports noting attendance, times, significant problems, etc.
  • Interacts with other facility staff in a courteous, cooperative, and professional manner.
  • Functional supervision of all event support staff, including setup crews.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned by the Director of Events.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of increasingly responsible experience in event management in a convention center, hotel, arena, or public assembly facility setting.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with major coursework in facility management, hospitality management, business, or related field.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Physical requirements may include standing/walking for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficient in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
