What does a museum custodian do?

A typical day for a Museum Custodian involves cleaning exhibit areas, hallways, restrooms, and public spaces while ensuring the safety of artifacts and displays. Custodians often work during early mornings, evenings, or after hours to minimize disruptions to visitors and staff. Depending on the size of the museum, custodians might work independently or as part of a larger facilities team, communicating regularly with museum staff to coordinate cleaning schedules around special events or exhibitions.
