Job description

Position: Murex Support Engineer

Location: Remote, USA

Duration: Long term contract

Role Summary:

We are looking for a Murex Support Engineer to assist in the day-to-day support, troubleshooting, and environment operations of a large-scale Murex MX.3 platform. This role is ideal for candidates with around 3 years of hands-on Murex experience who want to build deeper technical expertise while supporting production stability and automation initiatives. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and architects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day operations of production and UAT Murex environments
  • Monitor systems, run health checks, and investigate technical issues
  • Assist in log analysis, root cause identification, and escalation to L1/L2/L3 teams
  • Help manage environments: clone, refresh, and decommission as needed
  • Develop and maintain basic scripts (Shell, Python, Perl) to automate tasks
  • Contribute to:
  • Datamart and MxML report support
  • Batch job monitoring and trade workflow issue tracking
  • End-of-day and interface process monitoring
  • Model deployment and system updates
  • Work with functional teams to understand issues tied to settlement, reporting, and risk

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of Murex MX.3 experience in a technical or support capacity
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems and command-line operations
  • Exposure to scripting languages: Shell, Python, or Perl
  • Some hands-on experience with Datamart, batch jobs, trade workflows, or environment tasks
  • Ability to read and understand logs, and assist in troubleshooting system issues
  • Interest in developing skills around environment management and automation

Functional Awareness:

  • Basic understanding of the Murex trade lifecycle, including booking and processing
  • Exposure to collateral, settlement, or reporting flows is a plus
  • Willingness to work with functional teams to resolve production-related issues

Soft Skills:

  • Curious and eager to learn from senior team members
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of handling support responsibilities in a production setting
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to follow through on assigned tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Familiarity with Murex domains such as:
  • S4C – Reporting and batch processing
  • PAC – Workflow and event processing
  • CEM – Environment and infrastructure setup
  • Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins) or cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus
