Job description

We're looking for a Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs to join our Murad R&D team. This role leads regulatory strategy across the full innovation pipeline and product lifecycle - from early-stage formula assessment to global market compliance - ensuring the brand moves fast without losing its footing.
You're a regulatory expert who thinks like a business partner. You bring deep knowledge of cosmetic and OTC regulations across U.S. and international markets, and you know how to translate complex compliance requirements into clear guidance that keeps innovation moving. Working closely with Brand Leadership, R&D, Marketing, and the Global Prestige RA network, you'll shape the regulatory direction of new product development while serving as the brand's authority on emerging frameworks like MoCRA and evolving global standards. You're as comfortable in the room where decisions get made as you are in the details of a PIF - and you know how to make both matter.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides strategic Regulatory support to Brand leadership across all functions
  • Provides key stakeholders with updates on key issues affecting the brand, including representing Global RA in communication of new RA led areas
  • Provides RA guidance to brand leadership on existing and emerging regulation, including regulatory updates on regulations affecting the Brand, giving training as required
  • Leads compliance readiness for emerging regulatory frameworks including MoCRA, retailer compliance requirements, sustainability initiatives, and evolving global cosmetic regulations
  • Supports implementation and optimization of digital regulatory systems, AI-enabled tools, and compliance workflows where applicable
  • Sets the regulatory direction on brand innovation plans
  • Is the local regulatory expert in the Brand's claim cogeneration process

Provides tactical and operational RA support to Marketing, Creative, R&D, Packaging and Supply Chain

  • Provides early, preliminary RA assessments for all formulas, ingredients and innovations for all countries of interest before formula approval
  • Oversees 3rd Party's designated to provide regulatory guidance for new products or countries

Ensures new product development lands compliant, and existing products remain compliant
  • Conducts reviews and acts as regulatory gatekeeper for all labelling and claims (e.g. labels, web sites, inserts, advertisements and/or brochures, etc.)
  • Supports the efforts of our Direct and Web departments regarding advertising claims made on websites and digital media
  • Partners with Commercial, Digital, and E-commerce teams to support retailer-specific compliance requirements and online product content reviews
  • Provides final RA assessments for all innovations for all countries of interest after formula approval
  • Creates, collates, and/or Manages PIF documentation
  • Executes product registration in the EU system and International markets
  • Conducts US-based filings (VCRP, SB 484, etc.)

Represents the Brand on the Global Prestige RA Satellite Network
  • Acts as the Brand's liaison with the UL Regulatory Affairs Central Team
  • Is the conduit for the Brand's knowledge of regulatory developments
  • Communicates Brand information to the network for prudent alignment on issues
  • Owns, leads and prepares global regulatory summaries on specified RA topics
  • Implements new regulatory capabilities and consistent Prestige standards within Brand
  • Develops and implements scalable regulatory processes, SOPs, governance frameworks, and best practices to support innovation, compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Leads issue management on RA for the brand
  • Develops and maintains excellent interfaces with internal and external relevant partners

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Key Interfaces: Prestige skincare, Brand Leadership Team, Brand R&D and NPD, Prestige R&D Enabling Team, External Affairs, Legal, Packaging, International, Claims, and key 3rd Parties
  • May manage direct reports, contractors, consultants, and/or external regulatory partners depending on organizational needs

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in Regulatory Affairs within the cosmetic/personal care industry, including direct experience managing regulatory requirements for innovation pipelines and in-market product compliance.
  • Experience with the U.S. market is required, along with experience in international product registrations and labeling requirements. Experience with skincare category products is preferred, as well as prior experience with OTC products. Knowledge of regulations related to oral supplements is considered an asset.
