The multimedia team at Redmond WA is part of a small global group that researches and develops system software for current and future Nintendo game systems.  We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer with a passion for multimedia technologies and a strong desire to learn and grow. The ideal candidate should have a growth mindset, embrace new challenges, and is eager to develop technical expertise in a collaborative environment. In this role, you will participate in the design, prototyping, development, maintenance, debugging, profiling, optimization, testing, and validation of multimedia software components. You will work closely with experienced engineers to deliver high-quality solutions and contribute to innovative multimedia experiences.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • Develop, test, and maintain multimedia software components for audio, video, and streaming applications.
  • Participate in multimedia architecture, design reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Develop unit tests and support integration, validation, and performance testing activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of software quality, performance, and maintainability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 0-3 years of software development experience.
  • Coursework or professional experience in C++ programming.
  • Coursework or foundational knowledge in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), multimedia technologies, or related areas.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of audio and video compression standards.
  • Familiarity with multimedia frameworks and streaming technologies.
  • Knowledge of operating system concepts, including multithreading, synchronization, and memory management.
  • Experience with embedded or real-time system development.
