DetecTogether is a national nonprofit dedicated to helping people find cancer earlier, when treatment options are often greater and outcomes better. We equip individuals with practical tools and confidence to recognize early warning signs of cancer and other serious health issues, take timely action, and partner effectively with healthcare providers, because most cancers are not detected through routine screenings and often depend on individuals recognizing changes in their health and seeking care.
Through our evidence-informed 3 Steps Detect® education, we are changing the way people think about early detection and helping people become active participants in protecting their own health.
 Position Overview
DetecTogether is seeking a highly creative, strategic, and digitally savvy Senior Graphic Designer & Multimedia Content Creator to lead the organization’s visual storytelling and brand expression across all channels.
This role is ideal for a talented creative professional who thrives at the intersection of graphic design, social media content creation, video production, motion graphics, and brand strategy. As the organization’s creative lead, you will be responsible for developing compelling visual experiences that increase awareness, engagement, fundraising success, and program participation while ensuring a consistent and impactful brand presence.
The ideal candidate combines exceptional design skills with a deep understanding of today’s digital content landscape and can translate complex health information into engaging, audience-centered content that inspires action.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Communications & Engagement and works closely with the Assistant Director of Digital Media, the Programs & Partnerships Team, the Development Team, external vendors, and organizational leadership.
 

Key ResponsibilitiesBrand Leadership & Creative Strategy
  • Serve as the organization’s creative lead and steward of the DetecTogether brand.
  • Ensure visual consistency, quality, and adherence to brand standards across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to develop creative strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Evolve and strengthen the visual identity of the organization while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Provide creative direction for campaigns, fundraising initiatives, educational programs, partnerships, and events.
Social Media & Digital Content Creation
  • Lead the creation of engaging, social-first content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Design and produce high-impact graphics, carousels, reels, short-form videos, motion graphics, animations, and multimedia content.
  • Develop platform-specific creative assets optimized for engagement, reach, and audience growth.
  • Collaborate with the digital team to support content calendars, campaigns, and strategic initiatives.
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, audience behaviors, and emerging creative formats.
  • Use performance metrics and audience insights to continually optimize creative effectiveness.
Video Production & Motion Design
  • Create and edit compelling short-form and long-form video content for social media, educational programs, fundraising campaigns, and events.
  • Design motion graphics and animated content that simplify complex health information and enhance storytelling.
  • Support video production efforts, including concept development, scripting collaboration, editing, captioning, and post-production.
  • Develop visual storytelling approaches that increase audience understanding, engagement, and action.
Design & Content DevelopmentDesign and produce visual assets for:

  • Support ongoing website updates and content implementation as needed.
Project & Vendor Management
  • Manage creative projects from concept through production and delivery.
  • Prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
  • Manage relationships with freelance designers, printers, photographers, videographers, and other creative vendors.
  • Maintain and organize digital asset libraries, templates, and brand resources.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve creative workflows and efficiency.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in graphic design, creative services, digital content creation, or related fields.
