Position Overview

The Plumbing Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of plumbing construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This role manages all aspects of project execution including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and client communication to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget.

Projects typically include single-family, multifamily, and commercial developments, requiring strong coordination across trades and the ability to manage multiple scopes within fast-paced construction environments. The ideal candidate has experience working for a mechanical or plumbing contractor and can effectively manage complex project demands.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage plumbing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, cost tracking, and financial forecasts.
  • Create and manage project schedules, ensuring alignment with overall construction timelines.
  • Lead subcontractor buyouts, contract negotiations, and scope management.
  • Oversee project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and reports.
  • Coordinate with Superintendents and field teams to ensure efficient execution and productivity.
  • Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and long-lead items.
  • Communicate regularly with builders, project stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain schedule, budget, and quality goals.
  • Support preconstruction efforts including estimating, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Oversee project closeout including punch list completion, inspections, and final documentation.

Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of experience as a Project Manager in plumbing or mechanical construction.
  • Experience working for a plumbing contractor or mechanical contractor.
  • Strong experience managing commercial plumbing projects and/or residential (single-family or multifamily)
  • Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish (full lifecycle).
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on large-scale residential developments or multifamily communities.
  • Familiarity with design-build or production homebuilding environments.
  • Proficiency with construction management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes and standards such as UPC (Uniform Plumbing Code).
