Job description

Ehvert Mission Critical, a business unit within Salas O'Brien, is seeking an experienced ICT Designer to join our team in New York. lead the design and coordination of structured cabling, low-voltage, and telecommunications systems for hyperscale and AI data centers across North America. This is a remote position within an international engineering firm recognized for its innovation and expertise in mission-critical infrastructure.
Our projects involve large-scale, high-demand facilities with complex structural, electrical, mechanical, automation, and security systems, often exceeding 100 MW per facility and up to 500 MW per site.
Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled ICT Designer who will be responsible for developing and coordinating low-voltage systems such as structured cabling, telecommunications, security, and data networks, ensuring they are fully integrated within the overall building design. This role involves producing detailed design documentation, performing engineering calculations, developing system layouts, and ensuring design accuracy using BIM and ICT engineering tools. You will collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and BIM teams in a multidisciplinary environment, contributing to the full project lifecycle from schematic design through construction documentation and coordination. Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential.

What You Will Do:
  • Designing and coordinating ICT and low-voltage systems including structured cabling, telecommunications, access control, video surveillance (CCTV), and security systems
  • Using BIM tools to model and coordinate ICT systems with other engineering disciplines using tools such as Autodesk Revit - is a must
  • Developing a thorough understanding and delivery of the project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule
  • Determining and expediting the engineering deliverables for project
  • Developing and maintaining project scope of work documentation and revisions during design development
  • Preparing engineering calculations, system layouts, and technical documentation for ICT infrastructure
  • Preparing technical documentation required for project execution including design criteria, technical specifications, and equipment data sheets
  • Reviewing shop drawings and contractor submittals
  • Producing models and drawings using BIM and CAD modeling tools
  • Supporting coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams during project development and execution

What We Expect:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, telecommunications, IT, or a related field
  • Proven expertise as an ICT / telecommunications / low-voltage systems engineer
  • Written and spoken English B1 and higher
  • Experience in ICT design including structured cabling systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and security systems
  • Experience designing low-voltage systems for industrial, commercial, or mission-critical facilities
  • Experience using BIM modeling tools and design software
  • Hands-on experience using Autodesk Revit - is a must
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments
  • Understanding of telecommunications standards and low-voltage system codes
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize while meeting project deadlines
  • Self-starters that are ambitious and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
