Responsibilities

Our Senior Design Manager is responsible for partnering across disciplines within PepsiCo. There will be a focus on partnership with retail and food service marketing and external suppliers to ensure design assets are developed and delivered with quality, value, and on-time. Energizes and leads both the internal and external design resources from idea phase to commercialization. Ensures each stakeholder understands his/her role and responsibilities throughout the creative process. Regularly reviews the status of projects with appropriate leadership to verify that Company and Division expectations are met. This includes:

  • Proactively engaging with internal groups to enable flawless commercialization of all initiatives.
  • Establishing workflow priority providing direction and support to creative teams.
  • Driving internal and external timelines and updating project timelines as dates/circumstances change.
  • Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, andpresentations.
  • Creating SOW, including negotiating terms with photographers and illustrators, tracking and administration of project budgets and internal processing.
  • Liaise with internal/external project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts along the way.
  • Monitoring the progress of project and making adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
  • Driving continuous improvement across all projects and commercialization process

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $123,500 - $206,750.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a highly conceptual and craft-driven designer who brings both strategic thinking and exceptional executional skills. They should possess:

  • 10+ years experience as a multidisciplinary designer taking projects from concept through completion
  • 3-5 years experience managing a creative team
  • Deep knowledge of typography, type design, and typographic systems, with a strong understanding of type setting and visual communication.
  • A strong understanding of graphic design fundamentals, including hierarchy, composition, color theory, and layout systems.
  • Experience developing and managing brand architecture systems across complex portfolios and innovation pipelines.
  • A passion for creating ownable and scalable design systems that work across packaging, retail, digital, social, and experiential touchpoints.
  • Exceptional ability to articulate ideas, concepts, and creative rationale to both design and non-design audiences.
  • A strong point of view on design, culture, and creative expression, paired with the confidence to advocate for great ideas.
  • A meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to craft.
  • Mastery of hierarchy, information design, and grid-based systems.
  • Deep curiosity and engagement with contemporary culture, including art, music, fashion, technology, design, and emerging creative trends.
  • Strong art direction skills with the ability to guide photography, illustration, motion, and visual storytelling.
  • Illustration skills are a plus, but not required.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates conceptual thinking, visual excellence, and the ability to build compelling brand worlds
