Job description

Viwinco is seeking a Operations Manager to lead our window fabrication and assembly manufacturing operations. This role will operate within our building, currently undergoing renovation into a state-of-the-art facility fit with best-in-class technology and equipment — as we continue to raise the bar on manufacturing excellence. This is a a multi-shift fabrication lean processing value stream delivering high volume, custom orders with a short lead time.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Effective Daily Management to meet or exceed SQDC targets with a daily improvement mindset.
  • Promote a Safe work culture throughout the organization, expectation for consistent process discipline and policy enforcement
  • Gemba understanding through work observation to see current state and problem definition, connecting to goals of the organization
  • Strategic leader who creates a clear vision and targets for the team, connecting strategy to action
  • Problem-solving leader, demonstrated structured problem-solving framework and management using PDCA approach to achieve targets
  • Lean Coaching to develop a strong team of leaders throughout the organization
  • Provide leadership and support Operators, Team Leader, and Supervisor direct reports across multi-shift operation
  • Responsible for deployment of the Viwinco Performance System and aligned with the Core Tenets
  • Strong Communicator with internal departments and team members to ensure superior service is delivered. Foster strong relationships with other departments and value streams.
  • Maintains Current State Value Stream and drives Future State improvements aligned with company Strategy including Kaizen plan
  • Performs any other duties as deemed necessary by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Business Administration or relevant field of study
  • 10+ years of progressive management/ leadership experience with at 5 – 7 years of that experience leading teams through Lean Manufacturing processes and practical applications
  • Proven track record of implementing effective and sound Environmental Health & Safety programs and practices
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to develop a team of problem solvers
  • Ability to manage projects and work under tight timelines and meet deadlines.  Ability to multitask is a must 
  • Ability to manage, collaborate with, and inspire a wide range of people
  • Expert analytical skills
  • Ability to identify route causes and implement corrective actions
