Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and learn a legacy Prelude ERP (UniBasic, multi-value DB)
  • Extract, analyze, and validate data for business and IT use
  • Document system processes and data structures
  • Troubleshoot system and integration issues
  • Support month-end/year-end operations
  • Assist in ERP transition and data migration planning

    Required Skills:

    • Direct Prelude experience or hands-on UniBasic / UniData / Pick / multivalue database experience
    • FoxPro, COBOL, Progress 4GL, RPG/AS-400, or similar legacy 4GL or character-based ERP background — and "still enjoys it" (Mike''s phrase)
    • Familiarity with multi-value databases or non-relational data structures
    • Python or other scripting for ad-hoc data extracts (current Prelude ? Azure pattern uses Python)
    • Basic Azure familiarity — connecting to Azure storage and uploading extract output
    • Prior work in industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or heavy-equipment ERPs
    • Comfort partnering directly with business users to define data requirements field-by-field
