WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A DISHWASHER
  • Set up and break down dishwasher; clean and maintain dish machine equipment
  • Operate conveyor-type dishwashing machine; check and adjust water temperature and chemical levels during dishwashing operation to ensure proper cleaning
  • Organize racks and feed dirty dishes and utensils through dishwasher or sink as this equipment is returned from dining rooms and kitchen work stations; wash pots, pans, trays, and large food storage containers by hand
  • Carry, lift, and store in proper places all dishes, pots and pans, trays, utensils, cups, and other equipment for the department
  • Empty, clean, and refill dish machine with detergent and water when needed
  • Clean oven, exhaust hoods, and other kitchen equipment machinery
  • Empty, strain, clean, and refill deep-fat fryers
  • Remove, shake down, hose down, and stack floor mats
  • Sweep, soap, hose down, squeegee, and mop entire kitchen floor
  • Carry trash from the dish room and other kitchen areas and place in dumpster; clean and sanitize garbage cans and keep clean liners in cans at all times
