Summary
About the Position: This position serves as the Chief of the Acquisition and Sourcing Division for the Installation Management Command (IMCOM), where they act as the principal technical advisor and internal consultant for all acquisition initiatives. The Chief is responsible for shaping and executing the command's acquisition strategy, which includes formulating program objectives, interpreting policy, and overseeing strategic sourcing for installation services.

  • Responsible for overall strategic plans and implementation of strategic objectives.
  • Makes changes in organizational structure and functional alignment, balancing workload among subordinate elements to increase operational effectiveness.
  • Participates in conferences and panels with, or conducts briefings to higher HQ officials, other government agencies, IMCOM organizations.
  • Performs the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties responsible for understanding and actively supporting the Command's Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program.
  • Evaluates subordinate supervisors or leaders and serving as the reviewing official on evaluations of nonsupervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors.
  • Makes decisions on non-routine, costly, or controversial training needs and training requests related to employees of the unit.
  • Provides authoritative advice to the Director and the Command concerning matters of fundamental significance in establishing mission objectives and overall program goals and in managing highly complex and significantly important acquisition projects.

Basic Requirement for Acquisition Manager: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing multi-functional acquisition portfolios to orchestrate installation services acquisition programs. 2) Directing
enterprise acquisition policy formulation governing agency organizational restructuring initiatives. AND 3) Influencing executive leadership consensus establishing strategic agency program goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
