Aspen Fiber Networks, a leading information technology solutions provider, is pleased to offer a part-time internship opportunity for currently enrolled college students interested in gaining exposure to the internal operations of a Managed Service Provider (MSP).

As an MSP Operations College Intern, you will support the internal operations team through documentation, research, and process support activities, while learning how MSP organizations structure workflows, manage service delivery, and maintain operational efficiency. This role is educational and supportive in nature and is designed to complement academic coursework.

This internship provides an opportunity to observe and learn how managed IT services are delivered in a real-world business environment, without independent responsibility for client systems or service outcomes.

This internship is intended as a learning experience and does not involve independent troubleshooting, client support, or responsibility for production network systems.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with internal MSP operations activities, including documentation and administrative support
  • Help manage inventory records, asset tracking, and equipment documentation
  • Support internal projects focused on process improvement, organization, and efficiency
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records, procedures, and internal knowledge base materials
  • Conduct research and data gathering related to tools, technologies, and operational workflows
  • Shadow and observe senior team members to learn MSP processes and service workflows
  • Collaborate with internal team members on non-production operational tasks and initiatives

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree (IT, computer science, business, operations, or a related field)
  • Demonstrated interest in operations, technology, or business processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal collaboration
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and processes in a supervised environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to contribute effectively to team-based projects
  • Availability to work part-time hours during the academic semester
  • Proof of current enrollment may be required at the time of hire.

Benefits

Internship Duration

This internship is structured as a 90-day, part-time program aligned with the academic semester. The internship is designed as a time-bound, learning-focused experience.

Upon successful completion of the 90-day internship period, interns may be considered for an extension in a part-time capacity while actively enrolled in school, subject to business needs, performance, and availability. Any extension is not guaranteed and will be evaluated at the conclusion of the internship term.

- Structured mentorship and guidance from experienced team members

- Exposure to real-world MSP operations, workflows, and service models

- Flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments and exam periods

- Opportunity to shadow professionals across technical and operational teams

- Resume and LinkedIn profile review at the conclusion of the internship

- End-of-term performance feedback and career guidance session

- Letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the internship

- Certificate of internship completion

- Access to internal documentation, tools, and knowledge bases for learning purposes

- Support for academic credit or school-required internship documentation (if applicable)

- Inclusion in team meetings for learning and professional exposure

- Opportunity to be considered for extended part-time employment while enrolled in school, subject to performance and business needs
