Job description

Head of MSP: Operations, Technical Enablement, Sales Engagement

Role Overview

Lead both technology strategy and business growth for a fast‐growing Managed Service Provider. You’ll act as the executive‐level CTO/CIO for external clients while driving new MSP sales, service expansion, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as virtual CTO/CIO for SMB and mid‐market clients; build IT roadmaps and lead quarterly reviews.
  • Oversee Microsoft (Azure, O365, Windows Server) and Cisco (WAN/LAN, security) environments.
  • Champion cybersecurity, compliance, incident response, and DR/BC planning.

-AND-

  • Act as the MSP’s growth engine: prospect, pitch, negotiate, and help to close new business.
  • Generate leads through outreach, networking, and digital channels; present KPIs and forecasts.
  • Strengthen client relationships and ensure alignment between technical and business goals.
  • Help refine and launch new MSP service offerings.

Ideal Background

  • 10+ years in IT leadership (CTO/CIO/VP IT) alongside proven MSP sales success.
  • Past or Present Microsoft/Cisco expertise and cybersecurity fluency.
  • Executive presence, consultative communication, and external client rapport building expertise.
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, oil/gas, logistics, or similar multi‐location industries.
  • MSP experience required; CISSP/CISM/TOGAF/PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.
