MRO Buyer

Are you looking for an opportunity to be a part of the exciting future of automotive? If your answer is yes, then keep reading and join us!

Adler Pelzer Group - a growing global Tier 1 supplier of Acoustic and Thermal Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is seeking for a strong and motivated individual to fill the position of MRO Buyer at the Manufacturing Facility in Oregon, Ohio.

  • The MRO Buyer is responsible for non-inventory items and ensures that stock levels are maintained at adequate levels. Work directly with plant systems to manage and coordinate with supplier deliveries. This person will work in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager to help co-ordinate overall cost reduction.

Responsibilities of the MRO Buyer:

This section is not inclusive. Other duties are assigned as necessary to support team goals.

  • Create purchase requisitions when required and obtain approval prior to placing supply orders.
  • Manage the entirety of the purchasing and inventory control process, including communication with suppliers and PR/PO creation/verification.
  • Monitor and report the progress of purchases within SAP or equivalent purchasing software. Contact vendors and verify quotations from various suppliers in order to assure that high quality and cost-effective parts and materials are ordered.
  • Observe usage of critical parts and set adequate minimum and maximum stock amounts within MVP.
  • Work with established supply chains on a set schedule, to ensure a continuous supply. Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of MRO material.
  • React to work order requests of critical parts and ensure that the stock levels never fall below a set minimum.
  • Manage inventory accuracy by performing physical inventory counts daily.
  • Implement and manage min/max inventory management systems for identified MRO, office supplies, first aid, safety supplies, etc. 
  • Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problems.
  • Manage and resolve issues regarding PR/PO to avoid invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options.

 Skills Preferred for the MRO Buyer:

  • Excellent people management skills 

  • Excellent communication skills 
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, Internet Explorer, ERP system (i.e. SAP) 
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Demonstrable clear understanding of inventory management and budget control

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum of a college degree in a related field or a combination of work experience and education
