Job description

Overview: We have an opening for an experienced Senior System Engineer with Linux system administration experience to support cloud and on-premise systems with a mission operations team. The team is involved in operation and sustainment of a mission-critical geospatial solution supporting DoW end users. A successful candidate will have experience with installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of mission critical cloud and on-premise systems.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will involve taking a leadership role in system changes and improvements; working directly with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot issues; proactively recommend configuration changes to help improve system performance; regularly work with government and contractor POCs to keep systems security compliant; and author and update operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.

Qualifications:

  • Requires BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience; OR additional years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Must currently possess an active TS/SCI Clearance with ability to obtain & maintain a Polygraph post hire
  • Must meet DOD 8570 Certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher)
  • Must have Linux administration experience provisioning end users
  • Experience managing and configuring RHEL environments
  • Experience building, optimizing, and maintaining multi-node environments that run parallel workloads
  • Experience with Linux clusters, specifically Slurm and MPI, to support High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems
  • Strong understanding of NGA Networking
  • Proficient reviewing STIG/IAVA scans and remediating vulnerabilities
  • Experience performing Virtual Machine backups/snapshots
  • Experience working with Security to support ISCP exercises
  • Experience scripting for administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and automation
  • Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices
