Description

Purpose of the Position:The Developer, MPact delivers and supports data-driven solutions that enhance MPact applications and enable informed business decision-making. This role translates business requirements into scalable analytics by building and optimizing Power BI dashboards, data models, and SQL solutions, while leveraging DAX for accurate, high-performing insights. The Developer collaborates with stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure solutions are reliable, intuitive, and aligned with business needs, while supporting database design, DevOps practices, and integration within .NET and Azure environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets that support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Translate business requirements into effective analytical solutions, including intuitive visualizations, scalable data models, and actionable reporting outputs.
  • Develop, test, and optimize DAX measures, calculated columns, SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to ensure accuracy, usability, and performance.
  • Build and maintain analytical data models, including fact and dimension tables, relationships, hierarchies, and security structures aligned with reporting needs.
  • Manage and support Power BI Service functions such as dataset publishing, refresh schedules, row-level security, workspace administration, and access management.
  • Monitor and improve report, dataset, and query performance, identifying opportunities to enhance speed, reliability, and user experience.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through validation, cleansing, transformation, and reconciliation processes across reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver scalable data and reporting solutions.
  • Support deployment, version control, and environment promotion processes using established development and DevOps practices.
  • Maintain documentation related to data models, calculations, report logic, security, and technical processes to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree with 4+ years of experience in data analytics in transportation and/or software-related roles, required; 8+ years of experience in data analytics in transportation and/or software-related roles.
  • Experience providing technical support for software or data solutions, preferred.
  • Experience working with data related to customer orders, shipments, or invoicing, a plus.
  • Experience training or supporting end users in the use of reporting, analytics, or software tools, preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • Intermediate to expert experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, and Power BI Service management, required.
  • Intermediate experience with data modeling concepts such as star and snowflake schemas, fact and dimension tables, required.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in DAX, including complex measures, time intelligence, and performance optimization, required.
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and performance tuning, required.
  • Foundational knowledge of database design and data integrity, required.
  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of .NET and API integration, preferred.
  • Familiarity with Azure data services such as Azure SQL, Synapse/SQL Pools, and Key Vault, preferred.
