Motorcycle Mechanic – Harley-Davidson Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Motorcycle Mechanic with experience servicing and repairing Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The ideal candidate is passionate about motorcycles, has strong diagnostic abilities, and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. This position requires someone who can efficiently diagnose, repair, maintain, and customize Harley-Davidson motorcycles while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues on Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire replacement, brake service, and scheduled maintenance.
  • Rebuild and repair Harley-Davidson engines, transmissions, primary drives, and final drive systems.
  • Service suspension, steering, and chassis components.
  • Diagnose and repair EFI fuel injection systems, carburetors, ignition systems, and electrical wiring.
  • Install aftermarket performance parts and accessories including exhaust systems, intake systems, handlebars, lighting, suspension, audio systems, and performance engine components.
  • Perform engine upgrades including camshaft installations, cylinder head work, and performance tuning.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and service manuals to accurately troubleshoot problems.
  • Perform quality control inspections before motorcycles are returned to customers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Accurately document repairs, labor times, and parts used.
  • Communicate repair recommendations clearly with service advisors and customers when necessary.
  • Stay current with Harley-Davidson service procedures and aftermarket performance products.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 3 years of professional motorcycle repair experience (Harley-Davidson experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Harley-Davidson Evolution, Twin Cam, Milwaukee-Eight, and Sportster models.
  • Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Experience with fuel injection systems, carbureted motorcycles, charging systems, and ignition systems.
  • Experience using torque specifications, precision measuring tools, and shop equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with motorcycle endorsement preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on your feet throughout the day.
  • Own a complete set of professional mechanic tools.

Preferred

  • Harley-Davidson dealership experience.
  • Harley-Davidson University certifications or equivalent factory training.
  • Dyno tuning experience.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Experience installing performance engine components.
  • Familiarity with aftermarket brands such as S&S, Feuling, Mikuni, Andrews, Woods, Baker, Arlen Ness, Legends, Progressive Suspension, and Vance & Hines.
