Relocation Package: None
Schedule: Full-time. Weekend and holiday availability required.
Shift Expectation: Generally from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
POSITION SUMMARY
The UTV Tour Driver is responsible for leading guests on guided UTV tours through Kualoa Ranch, ensuring a safe, informative, and enjoyable experience. This role involves vehicle operation, guest interaction, and adherence to safety protocols while navigating designated tour routes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate UTVs safely while guiding guests through designated trails and scenic locations.
  • Provide engaging and educational narration about Kualoa Ranch's history, culture, and environment.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using Fleetio.
  • Enforce safety regulations and instruct guests on proper UTV operation.
  • Communicate via radio with other guides, Lead UTV Tour Driver, and Palekana team regarding tour status and safety updates.
  • Perform minor vehicle troubleshooting and report any mechanical issues.
  • Assist with check-in, gear distribution (helmets, goggles, dust gaiters), and guest seating.
  • Maintain tour timing, ensuring smooth transitions between stops and safe driving speeds.
  • Respond to emergencies and report any accidents or injuries to management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to operate a UTV for extended periods in varying terrain and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and assist guests in and out of vehicles if needed.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in hot, humid, or rainy conditions.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and drive for prolonged periods.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and follow safety protocols.
  • Customer service experience in a hospitality or tourism-related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in outdoor recreation, tourism, or as a tour guide.
  • Knowledge of Hawaiian history, culture, and the natural environment.
  • Experience operating off-road vehicles.
