Job Description:

We areseekinga highly motivatedand experiencedStateIncome Tax Seniorto join our dynamic tax team. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of our domestic income tax compliance team.This role will providesupportfor other areas such asTax Reportingandthe relatedAccounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740). This position offersexcellentopportunityand career development for the tax professional.

Key Responsibilities:

State Income Tax Compliance

  • Preparationand filing ofmulti-stateconsolidated,unitary and separateincome tax returns.
  • Ensuretimelyandaccuratepreparation and filing of extensions and estimated payments.
  • Prepare supporting documentationand workpapersfor relevant tax returns.
  • Work with other members of the tax department to coordinate completion of all required forms.
  • Respond to taxnoticesasnecessary.

Plan, Direct and execute tax accounting for primary area of subject matterexpertise

  • Ensure accuracyand timelinessof tax accountrollforwardsand reconciliations
  • Prepare current and deferred tax provision
  • Prepare rate reconciliation

Audit Management

  • Assistwithstate income tax audits,including respondingtoinformationrequests.

Financial Reporting

  • Assistin the preparation of state income tax provisions and disclosures for financial statementsin accordance withASC 740.

Trainand development

  • Provide training and support to juniorstaffmembers
  • Manage staff deliverablesin accordance withdue dates on tax calendar andoverall tax department objectives
  • Review, evaluate, and ensure accuracy of staff workand provide technical feedback

Process Improvement

  • Take active ownership for knowledge of software, processes, and workflows, as they relate tothe overallState & LocalIncome Tax functional area
  • Actively seek & design process improvements related to allcompliance &tax accounting activities
  • Maximize use of existing tax softwarethroughoutprovision and complianceprocess

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or MST certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in state income tax compliance and planning, preferably in a corporate environment or public accounting firm.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Solid theoretical and practicalknowledgeand understandingofstate and localincome tax laws and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze,evaluateand quantify thefinancial impactofstatetax issues.
  • Strong understanding ofUS GAAP accounting.
  • Strong technology skills,Corptaxsoftware experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal (written and oral) skills and ability to inform, educate, and influence others to support corporate goals andobjectives.
  • Must beself-motivated andwilling to learn new skills.
  • Must beateam player,working collaborativelyin a team environment.
  • Ability tomanagemultiple prioritiesand tasks and meet deadlines.

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $81,800.00 - $139,200.00 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between90,000.00 to100,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
