Job Title: Data Center Technician

Location: New Albany, OH

Pay Rate: Starting at $27.50/hr

Position Summary

Anistar is seeking Data Center Technicians for an opportunity to provide assistance with the installation of various types of voice and data cables as well as conduit and Data Center equipment. The ideal candidate must possess the following:

  • Technicians MUST have experience working with various cables that include, but are not limited to: twisted pair, coax, power limited tray, stranded, solid conductor low voltage, Category 5, Category 6, single and multi-mode fiber optic cables.
  • We are looking for individuals who will pay attention to detail and work efficiently under minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute installation services as defined under contractual agreements, ensuring compliance with all technical, safety, QA, and QC standards.
  • Perform all installation and cabling services required for the role without supervision, including routing, terminating, labeling, and testing copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • Establish scope, work plans, and procedures with minimal guidance from lead technicians.
  • Perform rack and stack operations, patch panel installations, cable dressing, and structured cabling to maintain clean, organized, and high-performing systems.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and restore complex, multi-domain failures across fiber optic and twisted pair systems, including loss of signal, low signal, and interface errors.
  • Diagnose physical connectivity issues, hardware failures, and support break/fix activities; identify and resolve issues independently without escalation.
  • Read and interpret cable maps, schematics, and floor layouts to support installation and troubleshooting activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, asset tracking, and service reports for all assigned work.
  • Support QA and QC requirements for assigned projects and installations.
  • Work effectively in live, operational, mission-critical data center environments.
  • Coordinate with engineers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met.
Qualifications
  • Must have 3+ years of data center, IT, or low voltage experience.
  • Experience in low-voltage cabling installation or a related field.
  • Knowledge of cabling standards and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, FOA, A+, CCNA, Network+) are a plus.
