Job description

Mortgage Processing Specialist

Be the reason mortgage loans move forward smoothlyโ€”keeping everything on track from application to approval.

At Security National Bank, we believe something simple but powerful: everything matters, because people matter. Every detail, every interaction, and every decision plays a role in delivering the experience our customers rely on.

If you thrive in a fast-paced mortgage environment, enjoy staying organized, and take pride in getting the details right, you'll find a strong fit here.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY: MORTGAGE PROCESSING SPECIALIST

As a Mortgage Loan Processor, you'll play a key role in the early and middle stages of the mortgage loan process. You'll manage a pipeline of mortgage loan files, ensuring each one is complete, accurate, and moving forward on time.

You'll work closely with borrowers, Loan Officers, and third parties to gather documentation, resolve issues, and prepare files for underwritingโ€”all while keeping the process efficient and on track.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Independently manage a full pipeline of mortgage loan files from application through clear-to-close
  • Process and evaluate mortgage applications within required timeframes
  • Ensure all documentation meets FHA, VA, and conventional mortgage guidelines

KEEP LOANS MOVING

  • Communicate proactively with borrowers, Loan Officers, and third parties to resolve issues and protect closing timelines
  • Identify missing documentation and follow up to keep loans progressing
  • Submit complete loan files to underwriting for approval

ENSURE ACCURACY & COMPLIANCE

  • Review and verify borrower documentation, including income, assets, liabilities, and employment
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant loan files
  • Obtain and clear underwriting conditions to prepare files for closing

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT

You'll be successful in this role if you bring a strong mix of attention to detail, organization, and a proactive approach:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
  • Experience in mortgage processing or lending preferred

WHY SECURITY NATIONAL BANK?

Because the work you do helps keep the path to homeownership moving.

You'll be part of a Mortgage Operations team that values precision, teamwork, and doing things the right wayโ€”where your role has a direct impact on both our customers and our success.

HOURS:

Regular business hours, Monday through Friday.

BENEFITS:

We offer a comprehensive benefit package to our employees including medical, dental, short and long term disability, life insurance, paid time off, a wellness program, and a 401(k) savings plan at hire for future financial protection.

ABOUT SECURITY NATIONAL BANK:

Security National Bank was chartered in 1884 in Sioux City, Iowa; founded on the time-tested principles of integrity, honor, open-mindedness, efficiency, good humor, respect, duty, and human connection. These principles served as guideposts that enabled SNB to withstand the economic panic of the late 1800s, the Great Depression, two World Wars, and the farm crisisโ€”and emerge as the region's most established and trustworthy locally owned bank. We believe what was worth doing well yesterday is still worth doing well today. People change and banking changes, but our time-tested principles remain. To this day, we believe that doing what's right is the only way to take care of customers, empower businesses, cultivate growth, inspire our community, and accomplish the remarkable.

Security National Bank is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer. Applicants are considered for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age, disability, marital status, or veteran status.
