Job description

JOB TITLE: MORTGAGE LOAN PROCESSOR
FLSA STATUS: (NON-EXMEPT)
REVISED DATE: 05/1/2019
REPORTS TO: VP MORTGAGE LENDING
PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Mortgage Loan Processor exists to receive originated loan files from Loan Officer Staff. Perform processing functions in an efficient and accurate manner in order to prepare the files for submission to Underwriting. Actively communicate with Loan Officers, Underwriters, and Supervisors to address and resolve required underwriting stipulations in order to move the file toward closing while following all policies and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Receive originated loan files from Loan Officers. Organize and upload the documents to Imageflow system ensuring readability and quality of upload.
2. Contact and communicate with outside business partners including but not limited to insurance agents and closing agents to obtain required information for the loan files while presenting a professional image.
3. Prepare and submit mortgage loan files for underwriting review and approval.
4. Collaborate with Loan Officers to satisfy and collect required underwriting stipulations.
5. Oversee file movement between Loan Officers, Underwriters, and Closing Department with an eye on targeted closing dates and deadlines.
6. Verify all documentation throughout the loan process for required signatures and accuracy of information in order to be a second set of eyes for compliance and guideline adherence.
7. Collaborate with loan team to ensure that all pertinent account documentation is complete and accurate.
8. Prepares and mails approval and denial letters to applicants. Records all data on status of loans.
9. Actively and thoughtfully communicate with supervisor, planning their goals and development, taking accountability for their actions and striving for excellence.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent.
โ€ข 1 year experience in mortgage lending.
โ€ข 2 years' experience in the financial industry.
โ€ข Excellent communication and organizational skills.
โ€ข Pleasant outgoing personality.
โ€ข Able to run a 10 key calculator.
โ€ข Ability to perform under pressure.
โ€ข Thorough knowledge of Credit Consumer laws.
โ€ข Knowledge of all laws and regulations regarding this position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
