Moog Commercial Aircraft Group is looking for a Sr. Project Engineer. This position is located at our Commercial Facility in East Aurora, NY.

As a Sr. Project Engineer, within Moog's Aircraft Electronics Team, you will be a primary motivator and contributor to the analysis, conceptual design, development, and testing of complex control hardware used on commercial aircraft. The Senior Project Engineer requires guidance on general assignment objectives and critical issues, but he/she is expected to make independent and unreviewed decisions on most technical and program matters.

As a Sr. Project Engineer you will:

  • Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnel.

  • Establish and monitor engineering project budgets and schedules.

  • Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.

  • Prepare successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and shoulder the responsibility for writing the technical volume.

  • Guide and Operate as a key element in a team of creative, independent individuals.

  • Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.

  • Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program.

  • Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.

  • Consult on new product and market development efforts.

  • Assist in interviewing, training, and counseling junior engineers.

To be considered for the Senior Project Engineer role, here's what you'll typically bring with you:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering with a depth of understanding achieved through experience in the design, analysis, and development of complex systems.

  • Proven record of successful development programs working as a part of a project team with at least 5 years of experience in a project engineering lead role working requirements, tracking schedules and understanding financial performance.

  • A collaborative perspective, with ability to travel domestically and internationally (10-15%).

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • General knowledge in areas of Root Cause / Corrective Action, LEAN, Project Planning, APQP, Facility and Product line layout, set up and transfer and Data Acquisition and Analysis.

  • This position requires access to US Export Controlled Information.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $110,000.00-$145,000.00 Annually
