OverviewUnder the direction of hospital leadership, plans, organizes, and directs the operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department at the Moses, Children's Hospital at Montefiore and Westchester Square campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily activities of the department including supervising staff, evaluating performance, scheduling staff, clinical education and enforcing disciplinary measures.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence in respiratory care and keeps up with advances in technology or practice in the field and new therapeutic modalities across all age populations. 

Requirements

  • Current NYS Respiratory Therapist license required. 
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care required. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care or another appropriate field required.
  • 5+ years' bedside experience in both pediatrics and adult patient populations required. 
  • 3-5 years of acute care hospital RT Management experience required. 
  • Strong clinical education skills required. 
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS required.

Preferred Skills/Competencies

  • Current member of the American Association of Respiratory Care.
  • Quality improvement and assurance surveillance.
  • Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PP proficiency.
  • Management/supervisory experience in a union environment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards as measured by NYS DOH, Joint Commission and alike.
