Overview

For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.
Cleans and services Medical Center premises, including office areas, ancillaries, bathrooms, hallways, stairways, nursing areas, etc. Performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans hospital premises utilizing specified cleansing techniques and chemicals while adhering to specified time frame.
    • Assigned areas meet Medical Center cleanliness standards and are completed on a timely basis.
  • Cleans patient rooms including the cleaning of the best, tables, etc. Utilizing specified cleansing techniques and chemicals while adhering to specified time frame.
    • Assigned areas meet Medical Center cleanliness standards and are completed on a timely basis for discharge to turn around time.
  • Performs discharge preparation of room, removes linen and all non-clinical items from room, i.e., IV pole, commode, etc.
    • Assigned areas meet Medical Center cleanliness standards and are completed on a timely basis for discharge to turnaround time.
  • Dust and polish furniture and equipment (i.e., tables, desks, chairs, filing cabinets, etc.). Cleans Venetian blinds, windowsills, cabinets and closets. Dust and clean wall, baseboards, and doors.
    • Assigned areas meet Medical Center cleanliness standards and are completed on a timely basis.
  • Arranges and rearranged furniture before and after cleaning.
    • Assigned areas meet Medical Center cleanliness standards and are completed on a timely basis. Property is free of damage.
  • Washes bathtubs, sinks, tiles, toilets including fixtures. Replenishes disposable items (soap, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.).
    • Assigned areas meet Medical Center cleanliness standards and are completed on a timely basis. Disposable items are replenished and fully stocked.
  • Sweeping, Mopping, and Burnishing rooms and corridors. Vacuums appropriate areas.
    • Assigned areas meet Medical Center cleanliness standards and are completed on a timely basis.
  • Empties and cleans trash receptacles and wastepaper baskets. Gathers and disposes of refuse. Bags and boxes and tags red bag waste and removes to designated areas. Removes bulk refuse to designated areas.
    • Trash throughout Medical Center is collected in a timely manner. Red bag waste is disposed of according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Keeps housekeeping supply closet in good order. Requests cleaning supplies as needed.
    • Adequate supply of materials is maintained at all times and closet is kept neat, clean and organized according to departmental established standards.
  • Performs appropriate documentation as it pertains to specialty cleaning, i.e., OR, Cath Lab, Pharmacy, Endo.
    • Escalates issues to appropriate person or department. 100% compliance to quality control check.
  • Perform related duties as required (assisting with floods, snow and other emergencies).
    • Assistance is provided in emergency situations on a timely and reliable basis.
  • Must be able to work every weekend for the first two years.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required.
  • Housekeeping experience.
  • Completion of an Appropriate Training Program preferred.
  • Fit Test - OHS Required.
  • Annual Assessment - OHS Required.
