    Join our Health Care team and make a difference at a great and expanding community-based hospital, Montefiore Mount Vernon. The hospital is part of Montefiore Einstein, a premier academic health system serving more than 3 million people living in the New York City region and Hudson Valley. We have fantastic opportunities for several Critical Care Physician Assistants to join our staff

    The Critical Care PA will provide direct clinical services to critically ill patients with multi-organ or multi-system disease failure in adult surgical, and medical ICUs.

    Responsibilities

    • Documentation of patient health histories and complete physical examinations.
    • Formulate and implement treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the supervising physician.
    • Assess patient's change in status and institute appropriate interventions.
    • Initiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patients.
    • Provide family centered care, communicating with family regarding the changing health care needs of their family members.
    • Perform approved diagnostic therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on the patient's clinical status.

    Requirements

    • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school.
    • Bachelor's Degree required.
    • Concentration in Critical Care/Emergency Medicine and Master's Degree preferred.
    • Registered as a Physician's Assistant in New York.
    • NCCPA (certified) DEA license/CPR-BLS/NPI/NCC PA required.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.
    • Prior experience as a PA in Critical Care a plus.

    We offer an excellent salary based on years of experience as a Physician Assistant. a shift differential and a benefits package through 1199.
