Job description

Who are we hiring?

The Event Security Officer is responsible for providing exceptional guest service while ensuring a safe and secure environment during all events and daily operations. This position requires adaptability and alertness in a fast-paced setting that includes large crowds, complex logistics, high sensory exposure, and desert climate conditions. This role is critical to the success of events and requires strong situational awareness, professionalism, and physical readiness.

What will you do?

  • Greet and screen guests, employees, and vendors using Xtract machines, bag checks, and visual inspections in compliance with venue security protocols
  • Monitor controlled access points and verify credentials for restricted zones such as back-of-house, artist areas, and production zones
  • Manage crowd flow during guest ingress and egress; provide support in high-traffic areas, including escalators, entry gates, and concourses
  • Conduct patrols around venue perimeter, parking lots, VIP suites, loading docks, and high-risk zones to prevent and identify suspicious activity
  • Assist in monitoring the safety of all guests and employees
  • Escort VIPs, staff, and talent safely through secure pathways within and around the venue
  • Identify and respond to loitering, unauthorized solicitations, criminal activity, and unauthorized media access
  • Support emergency response procedures such as evacuations, medical incidents, and shelter-in-place events in accordance with site-specific SOPs
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency services, and venue operations teams during critical incidents
  • Complete incident reports and statements as required to document security activities
  • Utilize radios, metal detection equipment, and access control systems as directed
  • Maintain high standards of guest engagement, de-escalation techniques, and professionalism in all public interactions
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.  

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum 1 year of security, military, law enforcement, or venue-based crowd control experience preferred
  • Prior experience in stadium, arena, or hospitality-based security strongly preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and professionally in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work outdoors in desert conditions, including extreme heat, direct sun exposure, dust, and dry environments
  • Knowledge of standard radio communication protocols and emergency response procedures
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred
  • Ability to remain alert, observant, and responsive for long periods during both routine activities and high-stress scenarios

Special Requirements

  • Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and split or rotating shifts, depending on event schedules
  • Role requires standing and walking for extended periods (8-12 hours) across indoor and outdoor environments
  • Must be able to lift, carry, or move up to 25 pounds unassisted and assist with physical crowd containment as needed
  • Exposure to theatrical smoke, strobe lights, pyrotechnics, intense sound, rapid motion video effects, and large, moving crowds is routine
  • Outdoor posts may expose officers to triple-digit temperatures, high winds, or monsoon weather. Appropriate hydration, personal protective equipment, and sun protection will be provided
  • Certifications:
    • Nevada Alcohol Awareness (TAM)
    • LVMPD - Unarmed Security Work Card
