Job description

Santa Rita Landscaping (SRL) is seeking a highly motivated, and experienced professional to join our growing Tucson, AZ business as a Tree Climber Specialist
The Company
For almost 40 years, Santa Rita Landscaping has been serving the Phoenix and Tucson markets. Experience and Training:
The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of verifiable work as a tree climber. Experience with climbing palms and all species of trees ranging in height from 20 foot to 75+ foot tall. You need to be familiar with the species names and common health concerns to follow proper pruning practices that are species dependent.
The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of and follow standards set forth by the ISA and ANSI for safety, including wearing proper PPE, job site procedures, demonstrating proper climbing techniques, knowledge of approved knots, and familiarization with rigging systems.
Aerial Rescue courses will be provided annually, as well as weekly Tailgate Safety Meetings, and in-house training from (3) of our ISA Certified Arborists. We currently operate on a four 10-hour day schedule; you will always have Fridays off.
Full Job Description:
  • Demonstrate and perform proper pruning and safety practices.
  • Work at temperatures of more than 110 degrees both safely and efficiently.
  • Climbing living and dead trees, using proper PPE, rigging techniques and equipment, trimming and removing varieties of trees in all sizes.
  • Knowledge as an equipment operator with Skid Loaders, Hydraulic and Manual Stump Grinders, Chainsaws, Brush Chippers, Extension Power Pruners, Etc.
  • Knowledge of how to properly maintain company equipment provided. (i.e. sharpening chainsaw chains, cleaning air filters, and lubing grease points on equipment, etc.)
  • Support and receive direction for work to be completed and be held accountable for production and quality standards.
  • Must be available to work during the following when necessary: Fridays, Weekends, Emergency Call Outs, Monsoon Storm Season.
Santa Rita Landscape Management Compensation and Benefits
  • Non-Certified Tree Climber $20 - $30 Per Hour DOE
  • Pay can be negotiated for an experienced candidate with certifications
