Description

The Facilities Assistant is part of the Operations Team within CloudHQ. The Facilities Assistant shall provide infrastructure support for the Operations Management Team in the day-to-day operations of a large-scale data center electrical / mechanical plant, while ensuring that the highest levels of reliability and availability are maintained.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Facilities Assistant must have a background in carpentry, general building hardware (doors, locks, windows, flooring, etc.) and basic administrative skills. This position will work closely with CloudHQ managers in maintaining the facility and grounds at highest levels of readiness and appearance.


Other responsibilities include:

  • Assist with maintaining operations of facility
  • Assist with minor facility modifications
  • Assist as a security monitor
  • Assist with shipping and receiving
  • Maintain facility logs in compliance with requirements. Assist with filing records
  • Assist Managers with obtaining facility related price quotations and bid proposals
  • Assist with Scheduling repairs and preventative maintenance of facility equipment and grounds
  • Assist with cleaning and general maintenance of the facility
  • Perform general maintenance tasks. Typical tasks include light carpentry, light landscaping, changing light bulbs, crating and uncrating equipment, painting, door hardware and adjustments
  • Be able to utilize standard hand tools
  • Assist with the maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical systems, fire extinguishers, and other facility equipment
  • Maintain work areas in a neat and safe manner
  • Organize and file facility documents
  • Local travel required
  • Maintain record of office and breakroom supplies; compile monthly resupply list
  • Conduct daily visual inspection of common areas and exterior grounds
  • Conduct monthly visual inspection of roof area


Requirements

Experience: Minimum two years of experience in a facilities/operations role. Experience working in a high-reliability data center environment highly desired


Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Fundamental problem-solving skills, technical and organizational expertise
  • Actively solicit feedback to ensure all responsibilities, activities and deliverables meet expectations
  • Carpentry, painting, and general mechanical skills
