Job description

Regions is seeking an interpreter fluent in Nepali to assist our patients in our hospital and clinics.  This position will be part time, Monday-Friday, pick up shifts as needed.


The interpreter will be responsible for facilitating daily cross-cultural communication between patients, family members and others, along with medical providers and staff. The interpreter will serve as a cultural and language resource person. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday

Required Qualifications:

  • 40 hours of interpreter training required or within 6 months of hire for languages of lesser diffusion

  • Annual completion of department-required continuing education

  • Active Status on the Minnesota Spoken Language Health Care Interpreter Roster 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 40 hours of interpreter training completed prior to hire preferred. Some general college preferred, especially programs that focus on interpreting and translation skills

  • Two years interpreting experience including one year medical interpreting experience preferred
