Join our team here at Earth + Sugar as a full-time Pastry Chef / Baker. Our shop is located in downtown West Palm Beach. Check out our site at https://earthandsugar.com/ to learn more!

We are in need of a qualified and experienced Pastry Chef/Baker to join our dynamic and award winning confectionary and dessert studio. Our ideal candidate will be positive, self-driven, passionate, reliable, motivated and a team player. This is a full time position preparing fresh multi-tier cakes, pastries and desserts. The Pastry
Chef/Baker must be experienced in preparing fresh cakes, pastries and desserts from scratch. The typical schedule for our Pastry/Baking team is Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm, with the flexibility to swap one week day for a Saturday if need be.

Please note: This position does not involve cake decorating.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role
  • Experienced working with ingredient limitations (ex. gluten free, allergies, sugar free, etc)
  • Ensure that all cakes, pastries & desserts produced in the studio meet the high quality of standards in conjunction with Earth and Sugar
  • Diverse knowledge of sanitation protocols, baking preparation and techniques
  • Ability to lift and walk carrying products weighing at least 50 pounds (unassisted)

Preferred but not required:

  • ServSafe
  • Degree/Certificate in Culinary Arts with an emphasis on pastry-making or baking

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the production and preparation of fresh cakes, pastries and desserts
  • Apply company standards, protocols & procedures at all times
  • Ensure that proper hygiene and safety of the station are according to the health department requirements
  • Execute preliminary orders for the day
  • Ensure that work area and kitchen equipment is at all times clean, organized and always fully stocked
  • Must comply with all health and safety guidelines
  • Maintain a consistent work attendance and punctuality record
