About Our Family
We are a busy and organized family of five located in Glencoe, IL. Our home is filled with energy from three children, ages 14, 12, and 10, and two friendly dogs. Both parents are professionals with demanding careers, and mom has recently taken on a new role that requires frequent travel. Dad works from home most of the time, but travels occasionally to the office or for kids' sports commitments.
We value structure and organization in our home. Each week, we print a detailed schedule to ensure that everyone stays on track, and we appreciate someone who can support that system while keeping the household running smoothly. While we have long-standing support from a cleaner who comes twice a week, we are looking for someone to take on the broader role of managing household tasks, running errands, and supporting meal preparation.
Our kids are active and involved in a variety of activities such as theater, gymnastics, dance, travel softball, and baseball, so there is always something going on. We're looking for a steady, long-term partner to help maintain a calm and organized home environment. We strive to be present and engaged parents, and with our busy schedules, we need a trusted individual to help us manage the day-to-day details.
We are looking for someone who is experienced and comfortable taking initiative. Our ideal candidate will be reliable, trustworthy, and organized, with the ability to anticipate what needs to be done without needing constant direction. The role operates behind-the-scenes, but we value open communication and collaboration. This position is for someone who understands the demands of a busy household and is excited to help streamline operations. If you're a skilled problem-solver who thrives in an organized, structured environment and enjoys making a home run smoothly, we'd love to meet you.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
Organized & Detail-Oriented: You thrive in structured environments and can efficiently manage the details of a busy household.
Proactive Self-Starter: You anticipate needs and take initiative, ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks. You don't need constant direction and are comfortable managing projects, from organizing spaces to meal planning.
Trustworthy & Responsible: You handle family finances with integrity and sound judgment, approaching errands, purchases, and use of the family credit card with a strong sense of responsibility and care.
Flexible & Adaptable: You can pivot when unexpected tasks or changes arise and can manage a variety of responsibilities.
Good with Pets: Comfortable walking, caring for, and being in the company of dogs.
Skilled in Time Management: You balance multiple tasks seamlessly and are able to prioritize effectively.
Collaborative: You enjoy working closely with the family and communicating openly to keep everything running smoothly.
Experienced: Ideally you have previous experience as a household manager, capable of managing the day-to-day operations of a busy home.
Child-Friendly: Able to support child-related tasks as needed, including light driving or meal prep, but not responsible for full-time childcare.
Professional & Service-Oriented: You approach the role with a business-minded, professional attitude while maintaining a warm and approachable demeanor.
