Job Title: Field Sales Engineer - Modular
Reports to: Head of Sales - Modular
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary
Primary responsibility is to maximize the development of sales potential of Stäubli's MOD business within the assigned territory. Field Sales Engineer (FSE) demonstrate a working knowledge of the Stäubli Electrical products in the relevant market and can utilize it to support customer projects, find new opportunities and promote the solutions in the assigned territory. An FSE also demonstrates a working knowledge of the company procedures, shown a willingness to excel in the role and work independently with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Aggressively promote Stäubli's MOD products in accordance with the policies that have been established by the corporation.
• Strong working knowledge of MOD and related infrastructure markets and the key customers in this market. Understanding how to leverage our products within this market.
• Utilize all available resources and sales tools to pursue the goal of promoting Stäubli Electrical Connectors products and ultimately increasing sales.
• Growing understanding of the geographical territory, its potential, customer personnel and competitors. Has shown the desire to find new opportunities and excels at networking to become a leader in the market.
• Collaborate internally to assist with the development of new opportunities within the territory with our current products, but also provide market feedback to develop new products to grow the focus market.
• Utilize all available resources in the resolution of technical and commercial problems within territory. Handle all complaints and customer dissatisfaction promptly.
• Utilize time to efficiently cover the territory and perform administrative duties such as CRM entry, sales reporting, and customer correspondence. Has demonstrated the ability to successfully perform with minimal supervision, has a desire for an independent level of supervision, but also understands when support is necessary to promote the growth within the territory.
• Develop good communication and rapport with the decision-making personnel and with all staff at customers and headquarters.
• Analyze new business opportunities by accounts, type of customer, products and geographic areas. Accurately forecast sales and source new business.
• Obtain intimate knowledge of all products and their function and application. Be able to convert the product features into customer benefits.
• Maintain up-to-date price lists, quotes, customer files, well-organized sample kits, catalogs and product presentations.
• Has a good understanding of customer's products and competitive solutions.
• Aware of industry trends and new product developments. Keep management informed of competitive activity and business conditions. Recommend appropriate action.
• Maintain an up-to-date customer contact address book listing all customer personnel and their job functions and mailing list.
• Maintain a priority file on active sales projects.
• Responsible to participate in Networking events, tradeshows, webinars, and other marketing events.
• Support in the preparation of Monthly Sales reports.
• Develop a close working relationship with Stäubli Electrical Connectors home office personnel including the General Manager, appropriate Insides Sales Representative, and Application Engineers.
• Submit required paperwork on required dates, including call reports and expense reports.
• Ensure all social media support the Stäubli guidelines, and self-monitor social media platforms to ensure on-going compliance and voice of Stäubli.
• Minimum of 50% travel required.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must:
• Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Use good oral and written communication skills to work effectively with customers and other staff.
• Be a team player willing to assist where needed, and be a self- starter and work under limited supervision.
• Be able to use critical thinking and problem solving to resolve customer issues.
• Exhibit computer skills: Microsoft Office, File Maker, Internet, e-mail
• Characteristics would include: driven, ambitious, competitive, optimistic, resilient, analytic, self-starter, independent, entrepreneurial, solution-oriented and influential.
Education and/or Experience
• BSEE or BSME required.
• Minimum 2 years of successful field sales experience preferred.
