Job description


Global Modular, Inc., a 21-year old Modular Manufacturing and Construction Company, located in Atwater, CA is seeking a highly qualified Quality Assurance Manager that will ensure the Company delivers the highest quality buildings and services to its Customers.

SCOPE:

The QA Manager is responsible for establishing and implementing the quality standards throughout the company resulting in the elimination of re-work and field service calls, His/Her activities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

​

  • Establishing & Implementing the Quality Assurance Program in each function of the company including: Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Refurbishment, Inspection, and Field Construction
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds the contract specifications, drawings and standards of excellence expected by Global
  • Coordinate with the state agencies' inspectors DSA & HCD, ensuring we are meeting their requirements and the applicable codes. Schedule inspections and testing as may be required on each project. Document all testing and inspections in QC reports
  • Ensure all materials meet or exceed drawings, specifications and submittals. Collect applicable MSDS and mill certifications
  • Develop QC trackers for each module that follow the units down the production line with QC check items signed by each Foreman & QC personnel. This document becomes a permanent part of the QC file for that project
  • Document all defects in each station and witness the correction of each defect
  • Ensure all jigs and fixtures are sized properly and are square and plumb
  • Provide QC trainings as may be required for personnel in both the factory and the field
  • General material ship loose lists and ensure the materials are loaded or shipped to the site and checked and signed off by the final finish foreman, driver and on-site supervisor
  • Oversee the final DSA/HCD reports that need to be filed or sent along with the project
  • Provide reports to executive management that measures quality goals and make recommendations for improvement in each area
  • Monitor and identify any required re-work in the manufacturing and installation process and correct the deficiency in our process that caused this
  • Update all quality processes that may be required and disseminate throughout the organization
  • Stay current with the requisite laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Attend project meetings and offer input to enhance the quality of the project
  • Instruct employees of safety issues, conduct safety meetings and manage the injury and illness prevention program
  • Update Global's safety manual as my be required
  • Ensure that employees are complying with safe and healthy work practices

SKILLS AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five plus years experience as a QA Manager in the Modular or Construction Industry
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Computer literate with at least working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Understanding of quality assurance processes and standards
  • Good leadership and teaching skills
