We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil BIM (Building Information Modeling) Manager to join our Land Development team. The Civil BIM Manager will be responsible for managing and advancing the integration of BIM technology in the civil engineering processes for various land development projects, including commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. This role requires a deep understanding of BIM workflows, software expertise, and strong leadership to oversee project deliverables and ensure adherence to quality standards and deadlines.


Responsibilities


1. BIM Implementation and Management:

  • Lead the development and implementation of BIM standards, workflows, and best practices across the Land Development department.
  • Oversee the creation, management, and quality control of BIM models for land development projects.
  • Establish project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) to guide design, documentation, and collaboration processes.
  • Ensure compliance with BIM standards, protocols, and client requirements on all projects.

2. Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination of BIM models.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and clients, for BIM-related matters.
  • Facilitate clash detection and resolution processes to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead BIM coordination meetings, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving among project teams.

3. Training and Development:

  • Provide training and technical support to staff on BIM tools, workflows, and methodologies.
  • Stay updated on emerging BIM technologies and industry trends to enhance the department's capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for BIM standards, workflows, and training materials.

4. Project Support:

  • Assist in creating detailed site designs, grading plans, and infrastructure layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant software.
  • Contribute to hydrologic and hydraulic modeling efforts to optimize drainage solutions and ensure environmental compliance.
  • Support the preparation and submission of permit applications, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.

5. Technology Management:

  • Manage software licenses, updates, and integrations for BIM and related design tools.
  • Evaluate and recommend new BIM tools and technologies to improve workflows and efficiency.
  • Ensure that project teams utilize BIM technology effectively to meet project goals.


Requirements


Education and Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 3 years focused on BIM management in land development projects.
  • Proven experience managing BIM workflows and tools, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in creating and managing detailed civil engineering models using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools like HydroCAD, SWMM, or similar software.
  • Strong knowledge of land development processes, grading, drainage design, and permitting requirements.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Additional Qualifications:
  • Certifications in BIM management or related areas are a plus (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional, LEED, etc.).
  • Experience with commercial, residential, and mixed-use land development projects is highly desirable.
