Job description

A Ford Mobile Service Technician primary job role includes traveling to a remote location where they will perform repair diagnostics and/or maintenance type items including fluid checks, inspections, software updates, Ford approved minor recall work and other basic vehicle maintenance needs.  Preparing estimates on site and selling needed items to the customer for same or future visits.

Ford Mobile Service Technician Responsibilities:

  • Test to check whether systems and components are secure and working properly

  • Isolate the sub-systems or components that might have caused the problem

  • Drive the vehicle for testing purposes

  • Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles

  • Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle’s breakdown or damage

  • Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks

  • Work directly with vehicle owners and customers in the field
  • Represent both the Store and the Brand behind Ford Mobile Service
  • Maintain a reliable work schedule and help grow the operation.

Mobile Service Technician Requirements:

  • 2+ Years of automotive experience 

  • Previous experience in Mobile Service a plus

  • Ability to identify the problem quickly

  • Knowledge of automobiles and identification of components or systems

  • Effective analytical and communication skills

  • Strong reading, computer input, and mathematical skills

  • Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications

  • Comfortable operating electronic diagnostic equipment

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Technical or Applied Sciences degree preferred

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be self driven

  • Basic computer program operational skills

  • Positive, friendly attitude a must
