Job description

What's in it for you?
Ready to make a serious impact? Millions of people already rely on Calendly, and we're still in the midst of exciting product growth - it's a fantastic time to join us. Everything you'll work on here will accelerate your career to the next level. If you want to learn, grow, and do the best work of your life alongside the best people you've ever worked with, then we hope you'll consider allowing Calendly to be a part of your professional journey.
About the Role
Calendly is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our mobile team, the group responsible for Calendly's iOS and Android applications used by millions of professionals worldwide. You'll own the full mobile product surface - from architecture and quality to team health and roadmap execution - and be the primary engineering voice for mobile across product, design, and leadership. This is a high-ownership role on a product that directly defines how users experience Calendly on the go.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and grow a team of mobile engineers across iOS and Android, with responsibility for performance management, career development, and hiring
  • Own the technical direction of Calendly's mobile applications, making foundational decisions on architecture, platform standards, and engineering quality
  • Drive roadmap execution in close partnership with product and design, ensuring the team ships with velocity and confidence
  • Partner cross-functionally with backend, platform, security, and data teams to deliver cohesive, end-to-end mobile experiences
  • Establish engineering best practices for mobile - testing strategy, code review standards, release processes, and on-call/incident response
  • Represent mobile engineering in planning and leadership forums, translating business priorities into clear technical direction for your team
  • Champion a high-trust, feedback-forward team culture where engineers do their best work and grow quickly
Drive AI adoption across your team to streamline code reviews, automate routine development tasks and enhance team productivity.
What We're Looking For
Required
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with significant hands-on work in native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin), or both
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience leading mobile engineers in a product-focused environment
  • Experience driving the adoption of AI-powered tools and workflows to help improve engineering team productivity, collaboration, and delivery efficiency in an AI-first organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the full lifecycle of a consumer or B2B mobile product - from architecture decisions through release
  • Experience operating at a scale comparable to Calendly's: a product with broad adoption, real uptime expectations, and cross-functional dependencies
  • Strong technical credibility - able to review architecture proposals, unblock engineers, and engage meaningfully in technical tradeoffs without being in the critical path
  • Track record of building and retaining high-performing teams, including hiring and developing engineers at multiple levels
Preferred
  • Experience with both iOS and Android platforms (not just one)
  • Background in SaaS or productivity tools where the mobile app is a primary user touchpoint
  • Familiarity with mobile release operations: app store processes, staged rollouts, crash monitoring, and instrumentation
  • Prior experience managing a team through a major platform migration or architectural shift
  • Exposure to React Native or cross-platform tooling, even if your core expertise is native
