The Mobile Storage Shop Foreman leads daily shop operations for mobile storage equipment by planning and directing technician workflow, overseeing advanced diagnostics and repairs, and ensuring safe, efficient use of people, equipment, and materials. This role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned from time to time, based upon company needs.

What you'll do: Plan, coordinate, and oversee Fleet Technician workflow to maximize shop productivity, safety, and service levels. Operations Coordination and Workflow Management Plan, organize, and schedule Fleet Technician activities as needed Delegate tasks and enforce safety procedures Monitor employees and ensure that work is done correctly Train and coach Fleet Technicians when necessary Prioritize work order requests/items to maximize shop efficiency Coordinate workflow and task sequencing to optimize productivity Serve as liaison between Fleet Technicians and management When necessary and without supervision, accurately order needed parts using reference material as required, including communication with all necessary vendors and suppliers Perform and oversee advanced equipment repair and diagnostics at the branch and customer locations. Using a high degree of independent judgement, responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of mobile storage equipment, including containers, ground-level offices, office trailers, and modular buildings at branch or customer locations Ability to diagnose problems with all mobile storage equipment appropriately, utilizing schematics and diagnostic programs Perform advanced, non-standard, and multi-trade troubleshooting, including HVAC, electrical, structural problems, complex leaks or damage Complete complex repairs: remove, repair, and install floors, tiles, roofs, walls, framing, doors, windows, screens, caulking, painting, filters/dampers, replacing skin, trim Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis Record preventative and ready inspection completion in Rental Flow procedures utilizing work orders and required mobile applications Document parts and labor accurately within the required mobile applications Assist peers in developing diagnostic skills and may perform Fleet Technician functions when necessary When required, travel to the customer site for repair/maintenance of mobile storage equipment Maintain a service vehicle in a clean and professional manner May assist in the pick up and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other United Rentals locations for purchase and/or repair Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools Manufacturer-sponsored training a plus Trade school training preferred Active, applicable state-class driver's license Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools Good leadership, teamwork, and customer service skills Advanced knowledge of the rental cycle Working knowledge of company computer systems Working knowledge of schematics and diagrams Good time management skills Advanced diagnostic and repair skills for a variety of systems Knowledge of mobile storage equipment; manufacturers' warranty process; and work order/time spent accounting Requires the ability to compile and communicate information accurately Ability to coach and mentor Fleet Technicians on advanced technical skills For Safety Sensitive Roles: This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
