Job description

Materials Coordinator

Flagstaff Bone and Joint Surgical Center

Position Summary

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for managing the ordering, receiving, inventory, and distribution of medical and surgical supplies. This position works closely with clinical staff, vendors, and leadership to ensure supplies are available for scheduled procedures while maintaining accurate inventory, cost controls, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order, receive, stock, and distribute medical and surgical supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, records, expiration dates, and lot numbers.
  • Prepare and stage supplies for scheduled procedures.
  • Receive shipments and resolve ordering or delivery discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding orders, backorders, returns, and credits.
  • Monitor supply needs and communicate shortages or potential issues promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient storage areas.
  • Assist with inventory counts, recalls, audits, and cost-containment initiatives.
  • Follow all safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide excellent service and teamwork in support of patients, physicians, and staff.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Healthcare materials management, purchasing, inventory, or supply-chain experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and effective communication skills.
  • Ambulatory surgery or healthcare experience preferred.
