Mobile HVAC/Maintenance Engineer Mesa, Arizona

Malace|HR is seeking an experienced Mobile HVAC/Maintenance Engineer in Mesa, Arizona. This role works 1st shift supporting multiple commercial facilities. The HVAC/Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems while ensuring buildings remain safe, efficient, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, monitor, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, fire/life safety, furniture, and control systems across multiple facilities.

  • Travel between assigned sites to ensure building systems are operating efficiently and maintained to company standards.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing HVAC system components.

  • Record equipment readings, analyze system performance, and make operational adjustments as needed.

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance programs, inventory control, purchasing, and vendor services.

  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure quality work and cost effectiveness.

  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while identifying potential safety concerns.

  • Perform routine inspections of tools and testing equipment to ensure proper operation.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong commercial HVAC and electrical troubleshooting skills (approximately 90% of the role).

  • Basic plumbing and general building maintenance experience.

  • Several years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.

  • EPA Universal Certification required.

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between local sites.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Trade school or technical education in HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical systems preferred.
