Summary

  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Under the direction of the department chief, nurse leader or designee; provides practice management support to a clinical team, recognizing the patient as the central focus. Provides telephone advice to patients with minor acute problems. Serves as a patient educator in areas related to self-care. Supports the on-going management of patients with stable chronic diseases. Monitors acutely ill patients during the patient visit. Performs a variety of procedures that are within the scope of the professional nursing practice.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • The Primary Care teams at Samaritan Health Services offer complete health care for all family members from newborns to seniors through their pediatric, family medicine and internal medicine providers. They encourage and offer preventive care, including annual exams, health screenings and counseling regarding health and lifestyle.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Current unencumbered Oregon RN licensure required.
    • Healthcare Provider BLS required.
    • BSN preferred.

    • Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with patients, coworkers and other practice customers.
    • Ability to accurately observe, analyze and interpret general and technical data both verbal and written to accurately communicate this information.
