Position Summary:
Join Nevro's Deep Brain Stimulation team to shape the next-generation mobile platform that powers our clinician and patient applications. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will design and implement modular, scalable mobile solutions using Compose Multiplatform and Kotlin Multiplatform, optimized for code sharing across Android and iOS.
Essential Functions:
  • Champion Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and test-driven development, ensuring our apps meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance. In addition to mobile development, you will also maintain and enhance our existing Windows-based programmer application, ensuring stability and compliance with regulatory standards.   • Lead technical design and development of mobile features for Android and iOS using Compose Multiplatform and Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Drive adherence to Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and test-first development practices (TDD, BDD with Gherkin).
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to design and refine APIs for secure, efficient data exchange.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Compose UI Testing, XCTest) and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and QA to deliver human-centered, high-quality solutions.
  • Lead and participate in code reviews and pair programming to foster a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (FDA, ISO, IEC 62304) and own to documentation for Class III medical devices.
  • Instrument apps with analytics to monitor adoption and inform product decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with systems, electrical, firmware, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Maintain and enhance the existing Windows-based programmer application.
  • Contribute to verification and validation strategy and execution for software subsystems.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to architectural decisions that shape the future of Nevro's digital ecosystem.
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years, Master's degree with 6 years, or PhD with 3 years of related professional experience in mobile application development (Android/iOS).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a regulated industry; medical device experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Compose Multiplatform, and mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, modular design).
  • Solid understanding of Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and test design best practices.
  • Experience with dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Koin) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) integration.
  • Experience in C#, .NET development (Visual Studio, C#, .NET).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to lead technical discussions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Mostly self-directed. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. (Recommendation of assignments is often self-initiated.)
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time domestically and internationally.
  • Knowledge of cloud services and willingness to learn beyond mobile development preferred.
  • Published mobile apps in App Store or Google Play preferred.
  • Familiarity with collaborative development practices preferred.
