Job Description
Job Summary:We are seeking a motivated
Field Engineer to join our team for an exciting
MNR project. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work on major infrastructure initiatives and contribute to the development and enhancement of New York City's transportation systems. The ideal candidate will have at least
3-5 years of civil engineering experience, particularly in transportation or infrastructure, and experience with
ADA compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the planning, design, and construction of civil engineering elements for MTA projects.
- Review and assist in the development of design plans, specifications, and engineering reports, ensuring compliance with ADA accessibility standards.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that construction activities adhere to design requirements, including ADA compliance.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and other team members to address engineering challenges and assist with technical problem-solving.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.
- Support the preparation of project documentation, including progress reports, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittals.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including MTA, and MNR.
- Assist in the review and coordination of contractor work plans, schedules, and change orders.
Job Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in transportation or infrastructure projects.
- ADA compliance experience, including designing and ensuring accessibility features for public infrastructure.
- Familiarity with MTA design and construction standards and guidelines.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure design, construction processes, and applicable regulations, including ADA.
- Ability to perform site inspections and support field engineering tasks.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of local building codes and construction regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:- Previous experience working on MTA & MNR projects.
- MTA Track Training Certificate
- PMG 1 2 3
Work Environment:- The position requires working on-site and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and project managers.
- May require occasional travel to different project locations.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
Salary: $55 per hour
