Job description

Atlantic Health is Seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner for Pulmonary Critical Care in Freehold, NJ 

Atlantic Health, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the CentraState Pulmonology Critical Care team at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey. The team includes five pulmonologists, seven nurse practitioners, and dedicated support staff serving the 16-bed Intensive Care Unit at CentraState Health System.

The Per Diem NP will be required to work at least two shifts per month, with the opportunity for more shifts as needed. The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the pulmonology team to deliver immediate, high-quality care to ICU patients. Key responsibilities include managing the critical care unit in collaboration with attending, writing consult and follow up notes, and procedures such as central line, arterial line, and HD catheters.  Additional procedures such as intubation, thoracentesis, paracentesis, intubation, chest tube, LP are preferred but not mandatory.

All of the medical centers are designated Stroke Centers by the Joint Commission, with MMC, CMC, NMC, and HMC designated as Primary Stroke Centers and OMC being designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, providing diagnostics and therapeutics to the neurologically injured patient population, including advanced neuro intervention and monitoring. Morristown Medical Center is designated as a Level 1 trauma center by the American College of Surgeons and is a primary and referral destination for critically ill trauma patients within the region. MMC also boasts one of the largest cardiac surgery programs in the northeast, with two dedicated Cardiac Surgery ICU's on its campus. Each medical center consists of a team of highly skilled and dedicated critical care health care professionals who provide extraordinary caring each and every day and are committed to supporting patients and their families during both the acute and post-acute phases of critical illness. AHS has established the first Post-ICU Care Center in NJ recognized by the Critical and Acute Illness Recovery Organization, which is a resource for patients who are recovering from critical illness.
