Job description

Position Summary:
The Mortgage Associate is the individual that serves as the gateway between the Mortgage Loan Originator, the Members and all internal processing/underwriting staff. The Associate serves as an extension of mortgage sales by providing support through data gathering and loan progress. The Associate will monitor and report the accuracy of data from the initial receipt of file through file submission. The Associate is required to forward all mortgage related investor and governmental notifications of applicable information to applicable internal staff.
The Associate assists the Mortgage Loan Originators and Processors in meeting mortgage loan production goals and serves as a back up to all Mortgage Loan Originator activities in their absence. The assistant is also responsible for running automated marketing campaigns through Surefire CRM system. They are expected to become experts in utilizing this platform to help drive return business and automated marketing campaigns for members and referral partners as well.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates and organizes every file for completeness, and readies file for submission to processing
  • Working with members and MLO’s to make sure all that is needed on the submission checklist is in the file prior to submission
  • Assisting borrowers with Telhio membership, confirming each borrower is an active member, collecting upfront LVF prior to loan submission
  • Assists MLO’s, Processors, Underwriters, Post Closers and Mortgage Servicing in gathering needed items from members
  • Provide pipeline coverage for MLO in their absence
  • Operates within compliance with all required regulations and polices including all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations
  • Stays up to date on all Surefire Activities
  • Communicates effectively with members in an organized manner
  • Follows up with member or MLO within 24 hours of receiving file
  • Exercising a sense of urgency in submitting the loan file ASAP, following up and staying on top of needed items
  • Stays involved in community networking groups, marketing campaigns and volunteerism
  • Monitoring Surefire CRM for duplicates, manually entering prospects/referral partners and assigning marketing campaigns
  • Attending team meetings
  • Completing assigned training
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 1-3 years Mortgage lending industry experience
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac amp; Underwriting Regulations associated with
  • Knowledge of FEMA Regulations and Requirements
  • Knowledge of Equal Credit Opportunity Act
  • Experience in underwriting to various "Investor Regulations"
  • Knowledge of banking products and service offerings
  • Experience in following MLO process and procedures
