Job description

The Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) is responsible for guiding borrowers through the mortgage lending process from initial consultation through loan approval and closing. The MLO serves as the primary point of contact for customers seeking financing for home purchases or refinancing and provides exceptional service while ensuring compliance with all applicable lending regulations.
The MLO is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and has flexibility to manage their schedule both in and outside of the office to meet customer needs, promote Greenville Federal products, and build relationships with customers, realtors, builders, and community partners. This position may require appointments outside of traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Essential Job Functions
Mortgage Lending amp; Customer Support
  • Meet with prospective borrowers to assess financial needs, homeownership goals, credit history, and eligibility for mortgage products.
  • Assist customers with loan applications, gather required documentation, and guide borrowers through the lending process.
  • Evaluate borrower information to determine prequalification and preapproval status and recommend appropriate mortgage solutions.
  • AsMaintain consistent communication with borrowers, processors, underwriters, real estate agents, builders, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate loan processing, approval, and closing activities to ensure a smooth customer experience.
Compliance amp; Risk Management
  • Ensure all mortgage activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including TILA, RESPA, and SAFE Act requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow established lending policies and procedures.
  • Stay current on mortgage regulations, products, market trends, and industry changes.
Business Development amp; Community Engagement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, community organizations, and referral partners.
  • Promote Greenville Federal products and services through networking, marketing, and relationship-building activities.
  • Participate in community events, nonprofit activities, and volunteer opportunities within the Bank’s communities.
  • Generate new business opportunities while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Performance amp; Professional Development
  • Meet or exceed established performance goals related to loan production, customer service, and relationship development.
