Major League Baseball is looking for a Fraud Prevention Analyst in the Risk & Fraud Operations team to focus on front-line fraud detection, applying healthy skepticism and sharp investigative instincts to identify individual fraudulent orders, automated bot activity, and complex fraud patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Actively monitor transaction queues and high-risk events to detect, intercept, and mitigate ongoing fraudulent purchases
  • Evaluate high-risk orders with a critical eye and make swift, high-accuracy approve or cancel determinations that protect revenue without creating unnecessary friction for genuine fans
  • Assist with maintaining, optimizing, and refining fraud analysis models, rule sets, and decision engines to increase efficiency and maximize fraud capture
  • Proactively investigate changing transaction patterns, emerging threat vectors, and industry trends to uncover hidden fraud networks
  • Analyze chargeback data to identify missed fraud trends and use those insights to strengthen fraud prevention rules
  • Take full ownership of daily queue prioritization and manage time-sensitive tasks during high-fraud events with minimal management oversight
  • Clearly communicate investigative findings, technical evidence, and emerging risk trends to strengthen collective prevention strategies
  • Explore data anomalies, device metadata, and transactional inconsistencies to uncover root causes and prevent repeat offenses
  • Manage sensitive customer information and client inquiries related to flagged orders with professionalism, clarity, and discretion
  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal loss prevention policies, detection controls, and standard operating procedures
  • Maintain strict confidentiality, security, and compliance for all customer, venue, and company data collected during investigations

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3 - 4+ years of hands-on e-commerce fraud prevention experience within live event ticketing, entertainment, or digital venue environments
  • Expertise in live event ticketing fraud with the ability to contribute immediately
  • Proven ability to make fast, accurate order determinations under time constraints while looking beyond surface-level valid data
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize daily tasks independently and take full responsibility for daily output
  • Ability to synthesize complex investigation data and present actionable findings clearly to the fraud team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong sense of team collaboration
  • Curious mindset, sound investigative judgment, and a high level of discretion
  • Ability to work remotely during evening, weekend, or holiday shifts aligned with live event schedules, peak on-sales, and sudden fraud spikes

Pay Range: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
